Coach Ben Ramer is entering his 10th year at Hewitt-Trussville High School. In his time at HTHS, Coach Ramer has spent his time coaching multiple positions in the defensive backfield, with a focus on Cornerbacks since 2019. Prior to arriving in Trussville, Coach Ramer was a part of competitive programs at Andalusia High School (1999 – 2007) and Demopolis High School (2007 – 2015). Coach Ramer has coached multiple positions on both sides of the ball and served in coordinator roles in all three phases of the game during his 26 years of coaching. He was blessed to be a part of the AHSAA 5A State Championship team at Demopolis High School in 2009. He also led accomplished teams for 14 years as head baseball coach during his time at AHS and DHS.
Coach Ramer graduated from Opp High School in 1992. He attended Lurleen B. Wallace College on a baseball scholarship, earned his Bachelors degree in Secondary Education with a double major in Biology and History from Auburn University, and completed his Masters program at the University of West Alabama with a degree in Instructional Leadership. He has taught multiple courses in Science and Social Studies throughout his career, while currently teaching 10th grade U.S. History I at HTHS.
Coach Ramer is married to Amy Ramer, who is also a member of the TCS family. Amy is entering her 23rd year as an educator, currently serving as librarian at Hewitt-Trussville Middle School . Ben and Amy have three children. Anna (20) is a junior at Auburn University, Preston (17) is a junior at HTHS, and Rollins (13) is an 8th grader at HTMS.
