Brandon Herring

Bio

Coach Brandon Herring is entering his seventh season at Hewitt-Trussville. Coach Herring is the Strength & Conditioning coach where he oversees all aspects of strength training, speed development and conditioning for the athletes in the program. In 2021, Coach Herring was named the National High School Strength & Coaches Association (NHSSCA) Alabama state Coach of the Year and the 2022 NHSSCA Southeast Region Coach of the Year.

Before coming to Hewitt-Trussville, Coach Herring coached at Oneonta High School (2017 Head Football Coach), Gadsden City High School (2016 Offensive Coordinator/S&C Coach), and Athens High School (2015 Offensive Coordinator/S&C Coach).

Prior to entering the high school ranks, Coach Herring was the Co-Offensive Coordinator/ Offensive Line Coach at Samford University from 2007-2015, Offensive Line Coach at UAB from 2004-2006, and Tight Ends Coach at UAB from 2002-2003.

Coach Herring has been married to his wife, Melissa, for 22 years and they have one son, Max (19), and Macy (16).
